Touchwood Homes

I’m a developer building a house to sell on so running costs don’t matter?

We often have people approach us with that statement. We feel that it’s morally questionable to build a home sacrificing the comfort and running costs for the future occupants of the house for the sake of a little extra on build costs, but the advantages of incorporating energy efficient features into new houses are now beginning to reap financial benefit for developers as people are becoming more aware of rising energy costs, so marketing your homes as such is very likely to enable you to conduct a higher resale or rental price.

And of course there’s the old adage ‘ if a jobs worth doing, it’s worth doing properly’. If you’re going to build a house, why not do something you’re proud of, even if it does sacrifice a small amount of ‘profit’?
