These are very high spec triple glazed inward opening tilt and turn windows completely pre-finished in the factory for quick installation with whole window U values to 0.79. This low U value is achieved through having thermally broken frames, with the cork insulation avoiding the usual cold bridge through the window frame.

Optiwin use cork insulation, an excellent thermally performing product because it avoids the environmental impact associated with typical foam based products – the pictures show the cork in cross section.

Correct installation of an Optiwin product is vital, the exterior edges of the frame needs to be covered in insulation to avoid thermal bridging and then covered with your external cladding, a process which creates a fine line around the window from the outside – an attractive modern look as seen below;

The window exterior can be clad in aluminium for a minimal maintenance approach (as shown above with a dark gray RAL colour) or clad in wood.

Profin windows

As a more economical option to the Optiwin products, we also offer Profin windows and doors from Finland, for whom we are the UK dealer. These are excellent quality factory engineered products, which can be triple glazed with typical U values to 1.1.

The main advantage Optiwin products have is a thermally broken frame – which is why the U values are a little better on Optiwin. Profin windows can be tilt and turn though, and are outward opening if the house style calls for it.

Doors and windows are all prefinished in the factory with all furniture fitted for quick onsite installation, with any RAL colour being available or more usually the wood can be lacquered to allow the natural grain to show through.

Often we have the exterior colour of the door a RAL colour, or a dark lacquer, with the inside left clear to show the attractive natural grain.

The fittings on the windows are excellent quality, with optional bars across the glass if the house style suits.
